Health Curriculum Feedback

Thank you to the parents who have provided feedback on our Health Curriculum. A few have expressed some doubts about the infamous ‘Principal’s Lolly Jar’! I do understand your concerns and, as a result, I’ll faze this out this term. It will be replaced next term with a different rewards’ programme.

For your information, I am thinking of devising a system that merges my ‘Booster Gram’ idea with collecting stamps / signatures from the principal when they spell my ‘words of the day’ correctly, perform noticeably well in the Jump Jam or get sent to me by a teacher with excellent work. There will be five $20 book vouchers available each term. The first five students each term who collect 20 principal’s stickers or signatures will receive one of these vouchers at our each of our end of term assemblies.

About Simon McGowan

Hello everyone. I am the new Principal at Opua School and am delighted to be so. I arrived in New Zealand in 1999, after teaching in the UK for 13 years, and very soon became the Deputy Principal at Bay of Islands College. I finished there at the end of 2012 after being appointed as the Principal of the best little school in the universe. I feel so privileged and very excited.
