Our last day and the holidays!

Tomorrow school is as usual apart from the fact that we have another mufti day! This time we are going with the theme of ‘Dress like a Sport’s Star’! We will have our usual Sharing Assembly from 9.45am to 11.00am [All welcome, as always] and are also having a session of Tabloid Sports from 2 to 3 pm so being dressed in sports gear should be of benefit! Please could children bring along a gold coin for this mufti? This time proceeds will go towards our own fundraising for improving our sporting facilities and adventure playground. Do come along and watch and enjoy the tabloid sports if you have an opportunity to do so.

It has been an extremely busy but successful term and I would like to thank everyone for their contribution and their support. We are back to being a very happy as well as successful school and this harmony is crucial to our forward momentum. To all the students and their caregivers, teachers, staff, parent helpers, sports coaches and community supporters: thank you all very much and have a lovely holiday.

About Simon McGowan

Hello everyone. I am the new Principal at Opua School and am delighted to be so. I arrived in New Zealand in 1999, after teaching in the UK for 13 years, and very soon became the Deputy Principal at Bay of Islands College. I finished there at the end of 2012 after being appointed as the Principal of the best little school in the universe. I feel so privileged and very excited.
