Room 2
Welcome to Room 2.
My name is Bronwyn Fulton, I have been teaching at Opua school for 1 year. Previously I was a teacher at Russell School for 6 years and in Auckland prior to that. I live in Russell with my husband, Blair, and our two teenage sons.
We have a lovely small class this year, with 13 children at the moment. Most children are in year 2, some children are year 1.
In Room 2 we do writing and maths in the morning block, reading after morning tea, then inquiry / PE / art in the afternoon block.
Each child has a homework notebook and a bookbag which comes home every day. There will be spelling words in the back when I have tested the children in class over the next 2 weeks.
We go to the library on Friday and swim every day except Friday.
I like to encourage the children to become more independent this year, bringing their own bags into school and putting their belongings in the right places.
Our whole class will be sharing in our assembly (with Room 3) on Friday the 6th of March starting at 2:15 in the hall, everyone is welcome to attend.
We will have a student teacher with us one day a week throughout the year, Maedisen Taylor is a local young lady who is in her second year of teacher training. She will complete 2 longer blocks with us in July and October.
I am looking forward to a fun year, full of learning and growing.
